CUERNAVACA GGN
The project is located on a flat, rectangular plot, generating a rational interpretation of the site through a longitudinal layout that favors cross-ventilation, natural lighting, and a fluid dialogue between the interior and exterior spaces. The structure and concept are based on a sober and purist architecture, with a focus on honest materials. The architectural language is expressed in flat, exposed concrete roofs accompanied by exposed steel columns and beams, giving the complex a contemporary industrial aesthetic. The material palette incorporates steel, natural wood, glass, and stone finishes in neutral tones, fostering a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

On the ground floor, entry is through a central foyer that establishes the circulation axis and frames the main staircase, conceived as a sculptural piece that articulates vertical circulation on both levels. Horizontally, it integrates into a latticework that subtly and cleverly divides the guest bedrooms from the living area. The open-plan kitchen, elegantly functional, connects directly with the dining and living rooms, creating a spatial continuity that flows onto the outdoor terrace and pool. Large floor-to-ceiling glass planes eliminate visual barriers between interior and exterior, creating a perception of transparency and spaciousness.
At the center of the complex is a rectangular pool, a central element of the project, which acts as a connecting axis between the living and dining areas: the terrace, the playground, and the dining room. This latter spatial relationship is reinforced by integrating the pool into the living space, which features a pool bar and Jacuzzi, designed for family and social enjoyment. The body of water extends into the rear garden, establishing a visual focal point.
The upper floor visually levitates from the ground floor thanks to the projection of a horizontal strip which gives a gesture of lightness in the general volumetry; The intimate area and other family activities are located on said floor; The relationship between this floor and the rear façade of the house was resolved by strategically locating areas such as the gym, living room and study. The materiality of the house is achieved through the dialogue generated by the integration of natural finishes, raw tones with the contrast and warmth offered by wood; Thus achieving together an ideal balance of form, function and materiality.
The second level is accessed via the central steel and wood staircase, a suspended sculptural element that lends character and dynamism to the heart of the house. The right wing houses the master suite, conceived as a spacious private retreat. This volume integrates a dressing room, a bathroom with high-end finishes, and a private gym, which extends toward a terrace with panoramic views of the pool and garden. The left wing houses the secondary bedroom, which unfolds at double height with a mezzanine that houses an intimate study. The program is complemented by a bathroom and a play area. This same wing houses a separate work studio, which culminates in the rear terrace, sharing views of the garden and pool, in keeping with the introspective nature of the space.
Finally, at the center of the upper floor is an open-plan family room, designed as a meeting point and transition between the private spaces. This area, bathed in natural light, acts as a focal point and a viewing point for the residence's central space.
